This spacious detached bungalow has been a much loved and well-maintained property and affords a 0.13 acre plot and enjoys amazing views across the Angiddy valley. The property is located on the fringes of Tintern, a historic village situated between Monmouth and Chepstow in the lower reaches of the renowned Wye Valley.
Tintern is probably best known for it's Abbey, the remains of which dominate the skyline. The Cistercian Abbey was founded by Walter De Clare in 1131 during the reign of King Henry I. Already a must-see destination by the 18th century, Tintern Abbey has inspired poems by William Wordsworth and Alfred Lord Tennyson and paintings by JMW Turner. Conservation work in the area has revealed that there were countless forges and furnaces along the river Wye and its tributaries in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Brass was first made in Britain at the Abbey Forge and it was the first place to make wire on an industrial scale, most notably the first transatlantic cable was made here.
Today the village is a hub for walkers and cyclists with a number of circular routes and long distance trails starting / passing though the village. A new five mile Greenways Route links the lower Wye Valley, running along the disused Wye Valley Railway and through the spectacular 1km Tidenham tunnel. There is also the Wye Valley walk and Offa's Dyke path close by for the outdoor enthusiasts.
Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Underwood Bungalow offers accommodation to include three double bedrooms, a living room, an open plan kitchen diner and a family bathroom. The property also boasts a loft which could be converted subject to planning & building consents into further accommodation.
Upon entering the property, the entrance hall gives access to all rooms. There are three double bedrooms which could also be used for further reception space with two of the rooms enjoying the valley views to the fore. There is a cosy sitting-room and stretching across the rear of the property is a spacious open-plan kitchen/diner with a range of fitted wall and base units with work surfaces over, as well as a family bathroom. The property also offers an expansive loft space which could be converted into further accommodation subject to relevant permissions.
Outside - Outside the wrap around gardens afford a good sized private garden to the rear, with a paved area giving space for a seating area.
At the front of the house is a level lawn accessed from the driveway at the side which has parking for multiple vehicles. On the other side of the house there is a spacious gravelled area with 7' x 5' garden shed, potting bench and oil tank.
