Set in an idyllic location Church Cottage enjoys stunning views over the Severn Estuary. This stone built property has remained in the same family for generations and is in need of complete renovation with the accommodation offering three bedrooms, three reception rooms, kitchen and bathroom. Outside there are several outbuildings as well and a separate detached garage. At present the property doesn't afford off road parking however subject to approval this could be created by removing one of the outbuildings. The property neighbours The Parish Church of Tidenham, which is dedicated to St Mary and St Peter. The original church stood on this site since the 11th Century however only the font survives. This lead font is one of six Gloucestershire fonts from the same blocks, another of them being made for the neighbouring church of Lancaut which now stands in Gloucester Cathedral. Tidenham is a village and civil parish in the Forest of Dean of west Gloucestershire, England, adjoining the Welsh border. Tidenham is bounded by the River Wye (which forms the Welsh border) to the west and the River Severn to the south. Offa's Dyke runs through the western part of the parish. The stretch of the Wye Valley lying within the parish includes several popular rock climbing cliffs at Wintour's Leap near Woodcroft and the Devil's Pulpit, a famous rock formation and viewpoint overlooking Tintern Abbey. The parish also contains Tidenham Chase - the largest remaining fragment of lowland heathland in Gloucestershire. The nearby town of Chepstow attracts locals and tourists alike with easy access to the M4 motorway. The castle situated on the clifftop above the river is considered to be the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain and overlooks the historic cast iron Wye Bridge built in 1816. The town offers a good selection of local and national retailers as well as facilities including doctors, dentists, primary and secondary schools. Chepstow is also home to the Welsh National which takes place annually at Chepstow Racecourse.
